American Turners Toledo Oktoberfest
Returning again for 2024 is our famous Oktoberfest celebration. This fall festival is known for bringing the traditions of Germany to Toledo, with relaxed fun at Oak Shade Grove – 3624 Seaman Road, Oregon.
New this year is a variety of performances including the traditional männerchor – dammenchor (men’s and women’s choir) of the Teutonia, and the adorable childrens group of the d’Holzhackerbuam Schuhplattlers . Also new this year is a hosted authentic German beer tasting experience, so you can sample from the extensive variety of options available.
Schedule of Events :
- 2:00 PM – Festival Opens with Free Admission and Free Parking – Car Show Opens
- 3:00 PM – American Turners Central States Cultural Competition Awards Ceremony
- 4:00 PM – Bavarian Sports Club (BSC) D’Holzhackerbuam Schuhplattlers Kinder (“children”) dance
- 4:30 PM – Deutschmeister Band – dorfkappelle – a “village band”, but with a modern flair
- 5:30 PM – Car Show Awards Ceremony
- 5:35 PM – Teutonia Chor – oldest continuing performing arts group in Toledo (1867)
- 6:00 PM – Deutschmeister Band
- 7:00 PM – Deutsche Volkstanz Gruppe – Dinner Show Dance
- 7:30 PM – Deutschmeister Band
- 8:30 PM – Deutsche Volkstanz Gruppe – Final Dance
- 10:00 PM – Festival Ends
Central States District Cultural Competition
Open to card carrying members of societies part of the Central States District.
Applications Due July 31st
Girls ages 14-19 as of June 1st, 2025, that are card carrying members, child or grandchild of card-carrying members are eligible.
